I'm really glad you stopped by to learn more about this growing global community more of us are choosing to join!
The digital nomad population, as of 2022, shows no signs of slowing down, with 60 million people worldwide expected to describe themselves as digital nomads by 2030. That's heaps!
Not everyone is hell-bent on counting countries and filling up their passport. For me, it all began when I bought my one-way ticket to a place as far away from NZ as I could possibly get, Mexico City, ready to explore Central and South America. I completely fell in love with Mexico and spent all my time (and money) exploring as much of this one beautiful country for as long as I could.
Like many, I never set out to be a digital slowmad.
And I never knew how I was going to travel and work. I know many travelers are partially funded by parents, trust funds, their partners or investments. For the rest of us though, it takes extra creative problem-solving, many goodbyes, and a neverending balancing act between a stable life and an uncertain life on the move.
Today I am living in Spain and working as a digital marketer. I specialize in copywriting, SEO, and social media marketing. My interests include ancient civilisations, cooking, diving, sci-fi movies, wine and (mostly unsuccessfully) learning new languages.
My hope is that these blogs help just one person, who is living and working away from their homeland, to make their day a wee bit easier... and to find new ways of enjoying their slow travel adventures!
In the words of the legendary writer, Hunter S. Thompson: "Buy the ticket, take the ride."

The Digital Slowmad
